About the Journal

Revista de Educación Religiosa is a biannual, open-access digital academic journal (published in May and October), edited by the Instituto “Escuela de la Fe” at Universidad Finis Terrae, Chile.

Founded in 2018, the journal publishes empirical studies, literature reviews, and theoretical essays that contribute to advancing knowledge in the field of religious education, approached from philosophical, pedagogical, theological, and sociocultural perspectives.

While its scope has historically focused on the Ibero-American region (particularly Chile, Colombia, Brazil, and Spain), the journal is currently undergoing an active process of internationalization. Among the measures undertaken are the increasing publication of articles in English and Portuguese, the participation of authors from diverse regions, and inclusion in various indexes, directories, and academic databases.

Our medium-term strategic vision is to consolidate a truly global profile by systematically incorporating contributions from North America, Europe, and other world regions. We aim to foster an interdisciplinary and intercultural dialogue that addresses the contemporary challenges of religious education in diverse contexts.

Open Access Policy

Revista de Educación Religiosa is an open access journal. It is fully funded by the institution and does not charge fees to authors.

The CC licence allows for immediate free access to the work and permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose.

This statement fulfils the DOAJ definition of open access.

This journal is published under an international license  Creative Commons Reconocimiento NoComercial SinObrasDerivadas 4.0.  This means that end users can copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

The authors retain the economic rights.

Self-archiving Policy

This journal allows and encourages authors to publish the pre-print version of submitted manuscripts (accepted version) on their personal websites or in institutional and thematic repositories. They should indicate that the article will be published in Revista de Educación Religiosa, including the DOI with which it will be available, wich can be requested at reveducacionreligiosa@uft.cl.

Digital Preservation Policy

This publication belongs to the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). The LOCKSS program offers decentralized and distributed preservation, seamless perpetual access, and preservation of the authentic original version of the content.

The journal is also deposited in the institucional repository of the Universidad Finis Terrae.

Sections

Revista de Educación Religiosa is divided into five sections: Editorial, Articles, Reviews, Reports and Acknowledgments, each of which has the following objectives:

 

Editorial
Words from the General Editor with a brief description of the articles that the new issue brings and comments relevant to the context in which they are published.

Artículos
Texts that, based on empirical research or in the form of essays and reviews, deepen the area of ​​religious education, or raise new perspectives. Whatever their format, manuscripts must meet editorial standards, and are then peer-reviewed.

Book reviews
Review of recent publications that are relevant in some of the areas of religious education. They go through an editorial evaluation, without peer review.

Reports
Brief publications of various origins (personal or institutional) and format (letters, messages, statements, minutes, working documents, etc.) related to some aspect of religious education. They go through an editorial evaluation, without peer review.

Aknowledgments
Public mention of the professionals who have performed the peer review service for the articles presented in this issue of the journal. Text prepared by the editors.
